The COMMANDO KIDS 2013 event come about as a result of a huge number of parents, school groups, cadets and scouts etc etc asking for an event other than the full blown ENDURANCE Course which could be undertaken by junior entrants - end result is a superb 5k ASSAULT COURSE.

The COMMANDO KIDS is being held at the prestigious BICTON COLLEGE in the heart of Devon and is open to anyone between the ages of 12 and 15 (and not forgetting Mums & Dads who have their own MAPANDUS Race so they dont feel left out).

The Assault Course has been designed by a Royal Marine and includes a 150 meter water wade, a mini Tarzan Course and approx 20 other obstacles you would more likely find in the Commando Training Centre at Lympstone.

This is primarily a Charity event with the funds being split 50%/50% between the Devon Air Ambulance and CGroup which supports injured and wounded Royal Marines.  To make this event even more interesting to schools and other groups currently supported by 12-15 year olds a percentage of the sponsorship you raise will come back to the winning teams in the form of a donation.  Therefore - the more you raise the more we can give back for you to spend on what the winning groups wish.

SPECTATOR value at this even is massive - with 5 races (each getting harder as the age rises) they will make great viewing by those not running in that race.  So why not bring your own group gazeebo and enjoy a day in Bicton College?  There will be refreshments and a bar (for the grown-ups only) and other trade and stalls to view - not to mention a whole host of photographs to take.

Entries are expected to be high - so we have capped the numbers in each race to 200 - therefore you are advised to print the Entry Form on the right and send it in asap to secure your running slots.

• Open to anyone between the ages of 12 and 15 as at 13^thApril 2013 including:
  • Schools, Cadets, Friends, Scouts, Clubs etc etc
• Five ‘age related’ 5k ‘Commando Course’ races throughout the day
• Trophies and Medals for winning runners / teams /clubs etc
• COMMANDO KIDS Entry Fee £20 each & minimum sponsorship £30 each to be handed in on Challenge day
• Special MAPANDUS race for 4 people (2 Parents / Adults) and 2 Commando Kids between 12 & 15)
• MARPANDUS Team Entry Fee £40 & minimum sponsorship £50 to be handed in on Challenge day
• Winning Categories get a % equivalent to the total sponsorship raised for their Group / Club. Sponsorship is split between Devon Air Ambulance Trust and the Royal Marines
• Obstacles designed by a Royal Marine Commando including water hazard and over 20 obstacles
• On site parking and catering or bring your own Family Picnic and gazebo for more fun
• Overnight camping on the Friday night if required
• All Commando Kids to be accompanied by Parent / Guardian / Authorised Responsible Adult
